Creating a Photo Job for Sports Photography

In this section, we will walk you through how to set up the communication part of your job with GotPhoto. Strategic communication can really help boost your sales, so you shouldn’t skip it!

OPTION #1: Gather Customer Contact Details
Import from roster:
- Request customer contact details from the school or league as part of the roster. At the very least, ask the school or league for the athlete’s first and last name, team, and coach.
- Important: if you’re using Next Gen, make sure the following CSV columns are filled: Student First Name, Student Last Name, and Group (team name). If you have Jersey numbers, input them in the Identifier column.

- Many organizations are comfortable providing this information to photographers.
Alternative methods:
- Ask customers to register when logging into the online proofing shop.
- Set up registration for picture day, requiring customers to register their athletes.

If you do not have any contact details from the parents, you can have the school or league handle the communication on your behalf. Ensure necessary information is shared:
- Picture day date, time, location, and any special requirements.
- Provide URLs to your online shop.

Navigate to Communication Profiles:
- Go to “Settings” → “Communication Profiles” or click directly on Communication Profiles.
We recommend you use the standard ones provided in your GotPhoto account.
- Quick Tips:
- You can always customize the templates by duplicating and then modifying them.
- Communication profiles can be reused in multiple photo jobs.
